Course Description: Have you ever felt frustrated when students forget something they learned (maybe even mastered) only to forget it a month or two later, JUST IN TIME FOR END OF LEVEL TESTING? In this session we are going to learn research-based teaching tips that support the strategy of “Retrieval Practice.” Retrievalpractice.org states: “We tend to think that most learning occurs… when students get information IN. However…, a significant amount of learning occurs when students pull information OUT through retrieval practice.” We will learn many strategies you can use to help students retrieve what they have learned and increase their likelihood of making the learning STICK long term.
What Tech Tool Will Be Utilized: Nearpod
Implemented Strategy: Retrieval Practice
What You’ll Experience: Using retrieval practice strategies to move learning to long term memory. Participants will participate in a retrieval practice strategy using Nearpod.
