We will be talking about literacy and giving away books!  Come and learn about reciprocal teaching and walk away with a book you can read over the summer or add to your classroom library.  No drawings--we are doing it like Oprah---You get a book!!! Course Description:
  Students MUST read in order to succeed.  Participants in this course will discuss the highly effective teaching strategy of reciprocal teaching to aid in reading comprehension, no matter what type of text is used in your classroom. Whether you use books, articles or textbooks in your classroom, we will discuss how students can better understand those texts.  In this course, we will experiment with these teaching strategies by using quick texts that teach big lessons.  We will practice making infographics that will highlight and reinforce the elements of reciprocal teaching. Join us to enhance the tools and strategies you currently use to help students manage and comprehend text in your classroom.
What Tech Tool Will Be Utilized: SORA, Adobe and Slides
Integrated Strategy: Reciprocal Teaching
What You’ll Experience:  During this course, participants will review the steps of reciprocal teaching and discuss how this powerful strategy can be utilized in any content area.  The group will experiment with SORA and Adobe to find texts and tech tools that will highlight and enhance student learning.  
What Challenge You Will Do:  We will make an infographic and you will receive a copy of a slidedeck that you can use to jumpstart thoughtful reading strategies with students.
